GRIEF COMES IN WAVES, AGAIN AND AGAIN

No one tells you that grief is more than mourning.

Let’s face it, we’re not taught how to process grief as kids because likely, our parents didn’t know how to either. And even if we did experience grief as a child and get support through it, nothing prepares you for losing the love of your life.

As you go through your deepest grief, you’re probably feeling and struggling with a lot of emotions and challenges right now.

  • When you’re in the midst of your early grief, it can be difficult to look past the moments because it takes all of your energy to get through them. Every minute can seem like an eternity. Just breathing can be difficult.
  • Feeling all the feelings at once has left you overwhelmed, exhausted, and ready to throw in the towel.
  • You struggle with the feeling that everything has been stripped away from you to the point that you don’t even know who you are anymore.
  • You may have tried moving forward, but you just don’t see a way to reconcile this new life with your old one.
  • It seems like one understands exactly how you’re feeling or what you need at this moment, and you aren’t able to articulate it.

It probably feels impossible to see yourself moving forward through this grief in a way that actually feels like progress.

I know because I’ve been there. But having been a grieving widow that felt all those feelings, I have some good news for you…

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE.

Ready to move forward with your grief? Ready to feel alive and purposeful again?

Getting support from someone who has been where you are can help you get to where you want to be faster and with less frustration.

It’s time to discover what life after loss looks like for you. To decide who you get to be in this new phase of your life. And to do it with the memories of your loved one supporting you.

I’m here to help support you in a safe space!

YOU’RE IN SAFE HANDS

You don’t have to walk on eggshells with me.

Everyone’s grief is their own. It can’t fit into a box, and it can’t be “fixed.”

I’m not here to fix you. Like a broken piece of pottery whose cracks are now filled with gold, you are going to mend yourself and walk away from the experience a stronger person.

I’m going to show you how. And be there to support you during your darkest days.

I’m not afraid of your pain because I’ve been where you are now, and I can handle anything you have to throw at me.

My goal is to normalize grief. In your children, in yourself, in your friends who shy away, and your relations who want you to get it over with. I want to teach you how you can walk forward in life with grief.

I’m Here To Help!

I’M HERE TO HELP…

You don’t need to “let them go”, or “get over it already.”

Despite what others may tell you, there is no “getting over” your grief.

You will continue to feel the loss of your loved one forever. But it’s how you navigate through that journey and bring the memories of them with you that determines who you can become in their absence and what the rest of your life will look like.

While others may try to help “fix” your grief, I come from a place of understanding that the grief never really leaves—it’s just something you can learn how to move forward with.

I CAN HELP BECAUSE I’VE BEEN THERE

Eight years ago, my life shattered and I was too shell-shocked to know how to pick up the pieces.

Hi, I’m Sarah Gallagher—a young widow, solo parent to two young kids, lover of life, a believer in magic, and a Grief Coach.

As part of my old identity, I was a Project Manager and online content specialist. Now, in my new life, I’ve been coaching widows through their grief for four years.

On April 26, 2014, I came home one evening after a rare night out to find my husband keeled over in the living room, blue. Three nights and two days waiting in limbo at the hospital before a brain scan confirmed the worst.

He was gone.

At first, I was too shell-shocked to even comprehend how to continue living life without my husband.

  • I felt split open and empty.
  • I felt like I was in a nightmare that I couldn’t wake up from.
  • My person, my best friend, my soulmate was gone. It was incomprehensible.

The life that we had promised to build together was now destroyed.

Suddenly, I was an widowed, solo parent with the weight of the world for me to burden on my own.

only a widow
knows how to help a widow!

ONLY A WIDOW KNOWS HOW TO HELP A WIDOW…

I recognize everyone’s grief is their own. But I also know how to support you during your darkest days in the way that you need to be supported.

I’m not afraid of your pain. I’m ready to witness it and hold space for you.

If my story resonates with you, then you’re in the right place. I’d love to have a conversation about where you are in your journey and which of my support options can help you reach your goals.

Remember: Put On Your Oxygen Mask First

You are the most important person to help with their grief.

Yes, your kids need to grieve and they need your support, but you can’t help them stand if you’re not upright yourself.

Reclaim Your Life is my signature program that was designed to help widows who are ready to stop reacting and start actively living again.

If you want to move forward but don’t know how…

If your life goals and identity were lost with your spouse…

If you want to get the support you need so you can support your family…

Then, it’s time to find yourself again. To learn how to stand in this new identity and confidently know where you’re going.

Through reassessing, redefining, and rebuilding, you will learn how to move forward with the memories of your loved one and rediscover what you want and who you want to be in their absence.

“Not only did you help to get me out of the darkest time on my life, you helped me find my smile again.”

I will never be the same person I was, but at least now I can accept the new me. I’ll always hurt, but you helped me realize that no matter what, I am MONICA. Not Bill’s wife, not Melissa’s mom. Just simply me.

I’m learning to love myself again. So from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!!!

– MONICA

What is Reclaim Your Life?

Reclaim Your Life is a program that combines 1:1 and group grief coaching with other resources and support to help you rediscover your identity after losing the love of your life.

The 3-month program includes:

  • 1 one-on-one coaching call each week
  • 1 group coaching call each week
  • A private Facebook community
  • Workbooks, action plans, and other additional resources
  • Weekly Voxer office hours access

In this program, we work on drawing out what qualities about yourself ring truest—both those from your past and present—to create your unique pathway forward in your grief journey.

Then, we dig deeper and do the hard work to reconnect your heart and your head. It takes a lot of introspection, truth, and a willingness to be open to knit yourself together. But when it’s done intentionally, it’s truly transformative!

The final stage is when you take everything you’ve learned about yourself and redefine who you are, inside and out. Be ready to step confidently into the world to reclaim your life on your own terms.

There is a golden beacon inside of you that will show you your unique path forward. I am here as a guide to help you bring out that beacon and discover who you are in your new reality.

Well done with your work. So very insightful.

Oh my! Once again you have done an excellent job of putting words together for a delicate topic. It was incredibly insightful to understanding what my partner was experiencing.

BEFORE YOU GO…

Listen…

I know that you may have already tried to get help from a therapist or counselor. Or maybe you are even seeing one now but not seeing the results you’d like to.

What I do is different.

While a therapist helps you look backward to the past and come to terms with what has happened there, my role as a coach is future-oriented. I want to help you figure out what your goals really are and discover how to achieve them with an actionable plan.

This is hard work. But the only way to get through the grief is to feel it, acknowledge it, and let the wave pass over you, again and again. It may seem overwhelming at first, but that’s why I’m here—to support you through this journey, even when facing your grief is scary.

And while this work does take time, it’s something that you can fit into your life if you really want to make a change. (If I was able to do the work with only an hour to myself each week with an infant and a Kindergartner, then you can too!)

I became a grief coach to help other widows learn how to walk with grief into their next life journey. I hope you will join me through this process so we can discover what life can look like for you as you now and in the future.

Not sure if grief coaching is right for you? Let’s jump on a zero-pressure call to talk through what you’re experiencing and see if it’s a good fit.

“IF YOU’RE ON THE FENCE, LET ME JUST SAY THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST DECISION YOU CAN MAKE.”

– SARAH

DISCLAIMER

I’M NOT A COUNSELLOR. I’M NOT HERE TO DISSECT YOUR PAST OR TO JUST BE A SHOULDER TO CRY ON. I’M HERE AS A COACH TO HELP YOU FIGURE OUT YOUR NEXT LIFE GOALS AND WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS TO ACHIEVE THEM. AS A SEASONED WIDOW, I GET WHAT YOU’RE GOING THROUGH. I KNOW THE IMMENSITY OF LIVING WITHOUT YOUR SOULMATE, OF HOW IT CHANGED EVERYTHING. BUT I ALSO KNOW HOW TO TEACH YOU HOW TO HEAR YOUR INNER CALLING, TO FIND YOUR PURPOSE AGAIN, AND TO CLAIM IT. DO YOU WANT TO KEEP GOING IN GRIEF CIRCLES? OR ARE YOU READY TO GET OFF YOUR ROLLERCOASTER?
