Hi, I’m Sarah

Widow Mentor, Solo Parenting Coach, Grief Educator

My passion is to help young widows whose lives were shattered when their spouses died, learn how to pick up the pieces and find their place in the world again – all while solo parenting. Find your inner beacon that will show you your new identity and zest for life again.

Only A Widow Understands.

Hi, I'm Sarah.

That’s me – the widowed, only parent of two. I didn’t initially intend on going it alone, but here I am.

On April 26, 2014 I became a widow when my husband unexpectedly died, leaving me alone with our 2 1/2 year old son. I was only 37.

My identity was stripped away from me, and I didn’t have the support to help me grieve. My social circle couldn’t understand the immensity of my grief. My friends were just starting their families with their spouses - mine had just died. 'Till death we part wasn't supposed to be this soon.

It felt like I was the ONLY young widow. The only widows groups out there were for 60+ women whose children were grown - mine were 2 1/2 and not yet born. There was no one out there who understood was it was like to be a young widow and a suddenly solo parent.

My Life Goal Changed

It took me 4 years to find myself again. That's pretty typical for us solo parents who are trying to juggle our new responsiblities while carrying the load of our own and our children's grief. I don't want it to take this long for you.

I started grief coaching in 2018, to help other young widows to never feel alone. To help them know what they are going through is normal. To help them breathe, and have the tools and resources to move forward in their life.

  • True empathy,

  • Straight talk,

  • Normalising grief,

  • Solo parent confidence

  • Finding your new identity

  • Grief comparison,

  • Band Aid fixes,

  • Empty platitudes,

  • “you’re so strong”,

  • “just get over it
